Ingredients: (Serves 4)

1lb. Organic ground turkey

1 cup white onion (diced)

2 garlic cloves (minced)

1/3 cup Panko breadcrumbs

1 Tablespoon dried basil (or dill – either are equally delicious!)

1 egg

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground pepper

1 Tablespoon olive oil

4 Whole grain buns (Dave’s Killer 21 Whole Grain buns are my favorite!)

Garnish with lettuce, red onion slice

Preparing this recipe:

In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes until soft. Remove from the heat and let cool. In a medium bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, basil, salt and pepper. Add the cooked onion and garlic mixing thoroughly with your hands. Shape into four patties and place on a plate to rest for 3 – 5 minutes. Cook in a pan on medium high heat for 3-4 minutes. Flip the burgers and continue cooking for 4-5 minutes on the second side. (Pro Tip – after flipping, cover the burgers with a heat resistant glass lid, pressing the turkey burgers and tenting the juices!) Remove from heat when turkey reaches 160 degrees. Serve on whole grain buns and garnish with lettuce and red onion. Enjoy!
